Memorial Day...

We were invited by Aunt Jenifer to meet her family at El Morro National Monument.
THANKS!! We had a wonderful time!!!

We started off with a picnic.





Then we started off on the 2 mile hike around and then to the top of El Morro.





We saw a number of inscriptions they were amazing, here is a sample!!
Some were dated as far back as 1605.

It was so beautiful and so much fun!! Ruthie became a little too independent for me at the very top as we were crossing the sandstone. She felt so "big". The view was "breath taking" according to James!!

After the hike we went over to some caves and finished with a snack before we both headed back to our homes.





Thanks to Jenifer we even enjoyed some cinnamon rolls!!
